In the global wine trade, the risk of receiving counterfeit or mislabelled bottles has become a major threat, with industry-wide losses from fakes and fraud now exceeding $20 billion annually. Buyers and distributors who invest in premium wines face the constant possibility that what arrives is not what was promised — ordinary wine passed off as rare vintages, or bottles that have been emptied and refilled with something entirely different.
Traditional checks based on labels, packaging, engravings or chemical analysis often fail to detect these deceptions, because they cannot confirm whether the liquid inside truly matches the claimed origin and composition.
This leaves supply chains exposed, investments at risk and reputations vulnerable. The core problem is the lack of a reliable, tamper-evident way to verify authenticity at the point of receipt.
That is why independent genomic verification — comparing received samples against verified original material through DNA analysis — has become essential. It delivers fast, definitive proof, protects financial and brand value, supports international compliance requirements and gives global distributors the confidence to trade without fear of costly mistakes or disappointed clients.

Your Verification Deliverables
Every
AuthenGene™
Genomic Wine Authentication project concludes with a professional verification report designed to support sourcing decisions, supplier qualification, risk assessment, and commercial due diligence.
The report summarizes the authenticated vineyard reference used in the analysis, the genomic methods applied, and the degree of genetic consistency observed between the submitted wine sample and the producer-specific vineyard reference. Clients receive a clear scientific assessment supported by relevant analytical evidence, quality controls, and statistical interpretation.
In addition to the final conclusion, the report documents the reference material, DNA recovery results, genomic comparison findings, and key methodological information required to understand the basis of the assessment. Where appropriate, supporting technical information is included to provide additional transparency for professional review.
The result is a practical business document backed by rigorous genomic analysis, enabling buyers, distributors, retailers, collectors, insurers, and commercial partners to make more informed decisions through independent genomic wine authentication.
From Order to Verification
Submit Your Verification Request
Select the producer, vineyard reference, and wine to be evaluated. Upon submission of the request, a 50% advance payment is processed securely online, allowing AuthenGene to initiate the project and begin producer coordination activities.
Vineyard Reference Authorization
AuthenGene contacts the producer and coordinates the permissions, approvals, and access required to create or retrieve the authenticated vineyard reference used for verification. If the required cooperation cannot be obtained, the project is cancelled and the advance payment is refunded.
Reference Generation & Sample Logistics
Where a vineyard reference does not already exist, AuthenGene collects authenticated vineyard material and performs comprehensive genomic sequencing to create a producer-specific genomic reference. At the same time, the client ships the wine sample to AuthenGene in accordance with the provided shipping instructions.
Independent Genomic Comparison
After DNA recovery from the submitted wine sample, AuthenGene performs a producer-specific genomic comparison between the authenticated vineyard reference and the genomic information recovered from the wine. The analysis evaluates as many informative genomic positions as can be reliably recovered from the sample.
Report Preparation & Delivery
AuthenGene prepares an independent scientific report describing the reference material, analytical methods, genomic findings, and assessed degree of genetic consistency. Following payment of the remaining project balance, the final report and verification certificate are released to the client.
